Blessings and Birds

Tim Fish Here. Boy what a great rainy night. I think the lightning was right on top of us. Don't you love to be sleeping in a dry bed when it's pouring rain? My thoughts quickly turn to all the people in the world who aren't as blessed. I thank God for taking such good care of me. It wasn't anything that I did to be born into a rich country at this time in history. Think of all the people through the centuries who took shelter anywhere they could during storms. Then I'm reminded of all those same people who went to sleep hungry, wondering where their next meal would come from. How blessed are we? We just need to be thankful for the simple things in life. With great blessings come great responsibility. How are we, (me) helping my fellow man? Do I ignore the man on the street with a sign, begging for money, or do I just assume he's a scam artist? I think that sometimes situations like that are placed before me just to see what my reaction will be.

And now for something completely different. I've been buying bird seed for over a year now, and feeding the birds. I have four, (count em 4) birdfeeders in my back yard. Three for seeds and one of those hummingbird feeders. Our yard is a hubbub of activity. We enjoy sitting there and watching them, and listening to all the songs they sing. We've got black birds, Redwinged Blackbirds, Cardinals, Red Headed birds, Yellow breasted birds, sparrows, and doves. Sometimes even pidgeons gather. I've been thinking of putting out raw meat just to see if there are any bears in the neighborhood....

Loved your thoughts. In fact, I have a proposal you may be interested in. How about we just turn ourselves into givers? We have been blessed with so much to give, why don't we?

And feed more millet and sunflowers as that is what I grow out here. Thanks!
