Hmmmmm.....

TimFish Here. In 1919 on this date, Oregon became the first state to tax gasoline. It began at a penny per gallon. Now its up to 45 cents per gallon, just to the federal government! I don't know the state's take on the scam. The Fed's do NOTHING to produce a gallon of gas, yet they make more per gallon than the oil company does, Yet the oil companies are villains for making 8 to 10 percent profit. Hmmmm...
Sorry I haven't been updating my blog lately. I'm tired from all the walking around the campus. My work isn't getting done and the callbacks are increasing. It's only been about 2 months since the parking ban, and it's already affecting the quality of work. Another Hmmmmm....
Barack Obama wants to raise the price of fuel so that the "alternative fuels" will be more cost effective. Hmmmmm again. How do you think he will raise the price of gasoline so that wind and solar (expensive fuels) will be more cost effective?
There's ANOTHER omnibus spending bill going through Congress now for another 400 Billion dollars. I think I will spend more on my credit card so that I can get out of debt. Hmmmmm..
If you're not mad, then you're not paying attention.

Pushing the Cart
Tim Fish Here. O.K. I'm done with my political tyrade for a day or two. Just accept the fact that the politicians love to spend other people's money. They don't understand that there is no virtue in giving away things that don't belong to them, although it seems to make them feel good about themselves.
I hope you enjoyed my view from behind the cart. I can already see that when the heat of a Texas summer gets here, I'm going to be hot and drained of energy when I get to where I'm going.
I hope you all had a Happy Valentine's Day. I know I did!

Spend like a drunken sailor you *@&%!! Politicians
Tim Fish Here. Well, let the spending begin. If Spending money you don't have, creates prosperity, then why aren't we rich? I should be able to eat my way to thinness by this logic. I hope you all have contacted your congressman. It's too late to stop this craziness, but at least let them know that you're not happy about this and you won't forget it when it comes time to vote.
I can't think of anything else to say, so bye

Barbecue!!!!

Tim Fish Here. I can't believe I ate the whole thing!!! Cynthia and I took a day trip to Austin JUST TO EAT AT "THE SALT LICK". We saw this restaurant featured on the Food Network. They said it was the best barbecue ever. Well, being a connoisseur of fine food everywhere. (Translate: eater of meat anywhere) We decided to drive for 2 hours, wait to be seated for 1.5 hours, and then eat for 20 minutes. I began with the combination plate. (Sausage, Brisket and one rib) I ate that plate and asked if I could 'upgrade' to the "family style" (all you can eat plate). I then ate another plate of meat, three slices of their homemade bread, beans, and then a big bowl of blackberry cobbler with ice cream. Mmmm... 7 hours later and I'm still stuffed. I don't want to eat again until...tomorrow.
I must say that at first I wasn't too impressed with the barbecue at the Salt Lick. It was good, but not good enough to drive 2 hours just to wait and then eat. After my first plate though it kind of grew on me. Being from Kansas City and growing up with KC style barbecue, I still believe that KC barbecue is the best. Particularly Smokehouse BBQ and Buffalo Bob's. I did enjoy the day with my best girl.
We stopped at Cabelas on the way home and spent $268.00 on clothes and stuff. The best purchase was a bucket lid with a cushioned seat that spins. I will be adding it to my Service vehicle. I'm sure pictures will be coming soon.

Tim Fish Here. This is what I think of the "Stimulus" Bill that the Congress is trying to pass. The cost and interest will be over $1,347,000,000,000.00. The 'cure' is worse than the disease. If you spent 1 million dollars a day, and began spending it when Jesus was born, you would still have 700 years of spending, before you ran out of money! But what's a Trillion dollars between friends? CONTACT YOUR SENATORS AND TRY TO MAKE THEM STOP THIS MADNESS. NO MORE SPENDING!!! AARRGGGGGGG.
Cynthia says that she's going to have to stop watching the news with me, cause it's making her too mad. Personally, I like getting my blood pressure up, cause that's when I write my more scathing letters to my politicians, and I consider pestering them to be one of my hobbies. Some staffer in Chet Edwards office recognized my name when I called last week to tell him not to vote for this lousy bill. He voted for it anyway, cause he's an idiot. (I didn't vote for him)
Did anyone watch "The Office" Sunday night after the Superbowl? It was Hillllaaarrioussss. Dwight started a fire in the office as a training exercise. Then He cut the face off the CPR training dummy and opened it's chest in order to try and harvest it's organs. Har Dee Har Har Har.

New KONE Service Vehicle
Tim Fish Here. As you can see, I've upgraded my service vehicle. Seems the old Radio Flyer isn't meant for industrial use. The wheels couln't keep up with the required load of the Fishman's tools and sundries. This model comes with a lockable sliding door, and 6 drawers. I modified the cart by adding brackets for a broom handle, an oil can holder and a tube to put my flourescent tubes in. I also added a four foot step ladder and my signature sitting bucket with rags and other stuff inside. I've placed my toolbox, grease gun, and vacuum cleaner in the bottom compartment, and have additional space as needed. There are still a few things I've yet to add, but will get done in the next few days. The only thing I need is bigger wheels. I'm not going to push my luck and ask for them too soon. It took some convincing to get the boss to spring for this sweet ride...er 'push'.
The first picture is the reason I couldn't park in the "Service Vehicle" spot with the useless truck that I drive to work, in order to be allowed to push the cart to the buildings where I do the actual work of servicing elevators. I also hate it when the handicapped people park in my regular non-handicapped spaces. Hmmmm....
Now for something completely different. I think it's funny how the politicians think that not paying taxes is just small problem. I'm glad that Tom Daschle decided to pay taxes on the $89,000.00 he 'forgot' to declare. I think the fact that they want people to pay taxes when someone drives you somewhere is ridiculous. Daschle DID say that tax cheats should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. I doubt he'll get the same treatment that you or I would get. He will in fact get away with it. Just like Charlie Rangle, Timothy Geithner, Al Franken etc.. At least he's not going to get the job. What kind of a message is sent when there are two sets of rules?
I wrote to my Congressman and Senators today. Just like the Geico, 'Caveman' commercial, I said; "The Fair Tax: So easy a Politician can do it." I encourage you all to write your Politicians. They need to hear from you.

Barbecue and Movies
Tim Fish Here. I'm watching "Man VS Food" on the Food Network. They're at "The Salt Lick" near Austin. I think we're going to make a 'day trip' out there and try their Barbecue. It looks good. It may be close to beating my favorite place to eat. Buffalo Bob's Smokehouse in Lawrence, KS. I prefer Kansas City barbecue over the traditional Texas barbecue. I like the sweeter sauce of the midwest over the spicy dry barbecue of the south. However, even bad barbecue is better than no barbecue.
We went to see that new movie called 'Taken' with Liam Neeson. I have to give it a good score. I always like movies where the good guy kicks butt and doesn't take names. How come I always finish my popcorn before the movie even starts? Most of the time I forget what movie we've come to see. I watch the movie trailers for upcoming features and then I forget what we've come for. Hmmmm....
