What's Up With That?

Tim Fish Here. One more working day for the year. I gotta tell you, I had a great year in 2008. Lot's of good stuff happened, and I can't think of anything bad that happened, so Thanks God!

I did cut my finger today, with my trusty pocket knife. I was just trying to close it, and got my finger in the way. What's up with that? I didn't think my knife was that sharp, but apparently it's sharper than I realized. I also cut my other hand this morning while replacing a door hanger roller at the Williams Administration building. What's up with that? Then I went out to the patio this evening to grill some hamburgers for Cynthia and me, and I WAS OUT OF PROPANE! What's up with that? So now Cynthia is having to cook supper. What's up with that? And then I find out that Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick were investors in the Bernie Madoff scheme. What I want to know is, what's the difference between the Ponzi scheme that Madoff was involved in and Social Security!! The answer is.....NOTHING!! They are both funded by new investors paying out money to older investors with NO interest or investments to begin with. The government (our government) just spends the money and hopes that someday, somehow the money will magically appear from somewhere. What's up with that? Then the news just reported that 40% of the MILLIONS of dollars of farm subsidies went to millionaires to NOT grow something on farms that they don't even live on. What's up with that? Let me finish by saying, "If you're not mad, then you're not paying attention"!!

Christmas Day arrived at last

Tim Fish Here. Notice the above picture. Taylor has the biggest bowl of popcorn, and insisted that I had more than she did, so she would continually take popcorn out of my bowl and add it to hers. I may have met my popcorn eating match with her.

What a great day! C. and I had THE BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!! I so enjoyed giving her some BLING! Emeralds and diamonds. Mm..... She is such a trophy wife to begin with, and now I have begun my plan to dress her in as many shiney objects as I can. (Eye Candy). She gave me some really cool stuff!! One of them neat ipod touch thingys, a cool guitar, (I've always wanted one, and can't wait to play for you all), and the 'coo day grass', She and Aaron went halvsies on a neato GUN. It's a Snake Slayer, two shot, pistol. It shoots a .45 caliber round AND a 4-10 shotgun shell. (NOTE: See cool picture)

I hope you all had as wonderful day as we did.

Christmas Eve in Bryan

Tim Fish here. Well, Christmas eve and "The Pope" is celebrating mass in St. Peter's Basilica, whatever that means. Here in Fish Land, C. and I are looking forward to a quiet evening, where we will open our gifts to one another and then make googly eyes at each other:)

The above video was made two weeks ago at the mall. I posted another video of David running around and now I want you to see little Taylor. She made a new friend. The little girl has never met a stranger. She is ADORABLE!

Yesterday we got to see Seth!! He came down from Dallas and we had a good visit. It was so good to see him. I'm so proud of him for all the hard work he's done and accomplished his goal of getting his degree from Harding University. He works as the Set Director for the Theater department at Freed Hardeman University in Henderson, TN. I'm extremely proud of all three of my sons. If you doubt it, just ask me:)

Christmas day we will have family over and enjoy one another's company. My Christmas wish for all of you is that you have a wonderful day, and bask in the glow of your loved one's warmth and may you have a great new year with God's great blessings.

Now.....Let the feasting begin.

Tim Fish Here. Don't you love playing dominos? It took me 3 or 4 attempts to get all the dominos up before the grandkids knocked them over. I had to guard the dominos from David with one hand, body check Taylor out of the way while standing the small rectangles on their edge in some sort of pattern. Then after allowing one kid to push the first one, I had to do it all over again, in order to allow the OTHER kid their turn to push down the first one.

Only two (count em 2) days left until Christmas. Woo Hoo! I can't wait to give my cool gifts to 'She who is my wife'. We've been watching Christmassy mooovies and lookin at the neighbor's Christmas displays. Talking about the meaning of Christmas. Growing up, we never talked about baby Jesus much. Especially around the Christmas Season. We didn't want to appear like other Christian denominations. The Bible never gave us instructions to celebrate Jesus' birth, only His death, burial, and resurrection, so we were afraid that we would be 'adding' to Biblical instructions. I think we missed out on alot of good things. It's good to be talking about Jesus. About his birth. The Bible talks about it, why shouldn't we? That's all of Tim's philosophical musings for the day. Merry Christmas and Thanks God, for Jesus.

Grandkids Running Around

Tim Fish here. I'm reminded of the old story of "The Gingerbread Man", when he told everyone 'Run, run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man." Well, I'm "The Elevator Man" and at least for now, I CAN Catch them. I have several videos of me and Dave last Saturday, when we thought we'd give the ladies a break, so we took the two monsters,....er, children out to the mall for some fun and pizza. I love those little goobers. Too bad all that energy is wasted on the young. (Sigh)

Let it Snow

Tim Fish Here! It snowed in Bryan, Texas!!! That's right, Global Warming is causing the temperatures to plummet. Pictured above is my house after the Winter Storm. This was last Wednesday, and this weekend it was 79 degrees and we turned the air conditioning on. Then, last night a cold front moved in, and now we are having freezing rain! bbrrrrr.....

Christmas time is a coming, and the spirit is filling me!! I've done it again....I shopped and purchased more stuff for someone. (Hee Hee) This is the most fun I've ever had at Christmas. Let's hear those sleigh bells ringing, a ting, ting tingling or two. Come on it's lovely weather for a sleigh ride together with youuuuuu....

Hey Mikey, He Likes It!

Tim Fish Here. Don't you just love watching children? I do. They crack me up and do the coolest things. This is my little grandson, David. He's eating his oatmeal and not wasting any of it. We have visitors to the Fish household this week. We are sure enjoying the grandkids.

So what do you think about all the news this week? Illinois governor trying to sell a senate seat. The federal government trying to bail out the Auto industry. (Without ANY constitutional authority). And then there's me. Buying cool things to give to C. for Christmas. I love buying her things.....She loves me giving her things....We fit each other:)

I Lost an old friend

Tim Fish here. Today around 10:00 a.m. an old friend, who brightened my life and brought light into the lives of others was forever lost. My Surefire flashlight fell 10 floors down an elevator shaft and will no longer shine the light of day into my otherwise dark world. I loved my flashlight and kept it by my side continually for approximately 3 years. It fit nicely into my front left pants pocket and never intruded into my personal life. It was always there when I needed it and always suprised others with its brightness and constant presence. I remember one time in particular when it was dark, and I pushed the black button at the end of it, and then it wasn't dark anymore. It quietly slipped into the abyss without any fanfare. I watched in horror as it tumbled over and over, falling as if in slow motion, the light getting further away and dimmer until its life was forever snuffed out. I mourned throughout the morning, then I went to Champion Firearms and bought another one:)

Shopping Can Be Fun

Tim Fish Here. I DID IT! I Christmas shopped!! I got C. some cool stuff that I look forward to giving her on the pre-appointed day. She will be soooo excited. I can't wait, I can't wait.

We went to see the movie "Australia" Friday night. (That's our normal date night, cause we ARE going Steady) Somehow we walked into the wrong theater and got into the three hour movie after it had been playing for two hours. Oddly enough, the movie still seemed to make perfect sense. After it ended, we realized our faux pas and we decided to stay and watch the whole thing. It is a movie that we both enjoyed and recommend. The part I like about going to the movie is the leftover popcorn I have afterward. I love day old popcorn. Speaking of movies, We've watched 'A Christmas Carol', and 'Scrooge' and we're waiting for 'The Charlie Brown Christmas'. Our Christmas Spirit of off the charts!! Tomorrow night, (Tuesday) is Cynthia's company Christmas Party. I got a cool gift to give to my giftee. I look forward to all the great food the season brings.

Poor C. went to the Dentist today. She got all shot up with novacaine or something and couldn't talk very well. She was pathetic, but I still took my pot shots at her and totally made fun of her. It's what I do. Later...

Santa Claus

Tim Fish here. Santa Claus is a-comin to town!! I do love the Holiday specials on the telly. Tonights special is "The Santa Clause" with Tim Allen (Tim the toolman) Speaking of Tim the tool man.....I AM THAT MAN! Yep, There aren't many tools I don't have, AND I have three sons. (just like the tv guy). woo hoo.

I'm glad that my readers are growing daily. Apparently I need to make a disclaimer. I, Tim Fish have no secrets. Therefore, if you TELL me something, or I SEE something, or HEAR something, I WILL TELL IT TO THE WORLD!!!

Christmas is three weeks away and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! C. is sneaking around, making secret telephone calls, whispering and using code words. Hmmmm...is she planning something? Personally, I too am sneaking, and with great stealth, secretly shopping. Will she figure it out? Will she discover my plan? Will she, will she? My favorite line from The Addams Family is when Debbie tells Fester (His name means 'to Rot') that she has a present for him and he asks, "Is it....String?" "Is it....a dog toy?" I just can't come up with stuff like that on my own. I only hope that Cynthia doesn't buy me string. (Although I keep asking her if that's what she got me)

And now for something completely different. Thank you Lord for my great wife and our families. During this time of year, help us to think of others and not ourselves.

You're full of beans, and so's your ole man!!!

Tim Fish here, in the middle of "A Christmas Story". Poor Flick has his tongue stuck to the flag pole. Will Ralphie ever get his Red Rider BB gun? His ole man wove a tapestry of obsenities that is still hanging over Lake Michigan. What a great movie. Speaking of great movies.... Following is a video of all the food from Thanksgiving.

Trivia question, what was the name of Scutt Farcass's Toady friend?......Grover Dill. (ta da). I love it when Ralphie's ole man thinks Fragile is Italian. Speaking of mispronouncing words. Last night my wife told me her new name was Crabaye De'Moinyea. Later I learned she meant she had a Crabby Demeaner. Har-D-Har-Har. OOOOO, Ralphie is feeling up his ole man's award!

I went to a Mexican Restaurant for lunch today. Mexican food is o.k. but not my favorite. I tolerate it, cause I know others enjoy it. Then, C. and I got home and needed to go out for supper before church. She chose.....Mexican fooooooddddd. (Mayrtdom) I ordered something I never ordered before, Guacomole Chalupa. It was two tostadas with sour cream, enjoyable enough, but how do you eat it? Fingers? Fork? Spoon? Chop Sticks? I managed to get it down and not make too much of a mess. Then we got home and I had, had, had to make a video of the decorative lighting arrangement I designed and installed on my Shrubberies. I hope you enjoy the beautiful display. Ralphie's ole man worked in profanity like other artists worked in oils, or pastels...

More Thanksgiving Vids

Tim Fish here! I love, love, love watching these videos! C. and I laugh each time. It's just classic t.v.! It's almost as good as re-runs of 'The Office'. I was lying in bed the other night giggling to myself at the concept of putting a co-worker's office supplies in jello! I was trying to think of ways to get cell phones into jello without short circuiting the little gizmos and whirly-gigs inside the cell phone apparatus itself. I digress.... Now for the show....

I could almost actually hear the 'heavenly chorus of angels' singing, as the pies were being made, and then, when Jean gave permission to Cynthia to cut the Cherry pie.....well....there was 'Great Rejoicing'. I can't prove it, but I don't think she's brushed her teeth since then.

And now for something completely different. Thank you Lord for all the cool things you do.

Family Thanksgiving

Tim Fish here. I took several videos during the Thanksgiving Holiday. I will now attempt to share them with whomever views my awesome blog.

I have lots more videos but it seems like it takes FOREVER to download. I will release more as the days go by.

Today I got up late due to something my father-in-law called "Dr. Crockett's Rectum Rockets". I don't know if I got food poisoning, or had the flu. Ruff, Ruff. I got to ride the 'white pony' longer than usual. About 10:00 a.m. I got to work to find that I was missing the annual Christmas party. Don't worry, I made it.

I got home tonight and decoratively, with artistic flair, placed 4 strings of white Christmas lights around the shrubberies in front of the house. Cynthia, (my sweet wife) 'ooohhhed' and 'aahhhed' at my lighting prowess. This is the first time I've ever hung lights outside my home. So far, so good.

Now for something completely different. Thanks God, for all the great things you do.
